Kasio – Mural

LI:To design a mural for our community that shows my culture.

Task Description : For reading, Mrs Anderson read us this book called Painting The Town and it was kind of a sad one because it tells us the Aftermath of the earthquake in Christchurch and artists that came from New Zealand, Australia, and Belgium have painted 15 artworks all over the town to cheer everyone up and keep their mind off the earthquake. My mural shows my culture and where I am from.

Kasio – Group 3 Bok Choy Letter

LI : To understand we make judgements based on stereotyping, assumptions and prejudices

We read the text bok choy for reading. This text shows us the prejudices existed towards the Chinese immigrants in early NZ.

It also shows us that it is importantant to be empathy for those who are seen different from us.

Dear Ah-sum,

I, Thank you Ah-sum, for saving me from the river. While everyone was minding their business, you stepped in and risked your life just for me and I appreciate it so much. I also want to thank you for inviting me into your hut and giving me a nice warm tea to heat me up from the chilly freezing river, it made me feel safe and I hope you felt safe too.

I also want to apologize for the way I acted towards william since he was being unkind. The only thing I could do was stand up for myself, I wasnt going to let him do unkind things to me but I am very sorry for not showing enough respect, especially towards you Ah sum.

I am hoping in the future I could do the same for you, I cannot help but thank you for saving me. So someday if you get hurt just know I will always be there for you.

Kasio 2 Min writing about Hiding in the Annex.

Task Description: Last Month we did 2 Minute writing about Anne frank hiding in the Annex.

Annex,diary,persecuted,secret,silent,basic,cramped

In the 1940s the Jewish people were living a hard life due to Germans who tried to take over the world. There was a little young girl named Anne Frank who wrote about this in her diary.

Between 8:30 and 9:00 am, the people in hiding could not use the bathroom since the the pipes go through the warehouse and the workers always start the day at nine o’clock every day the workers always thought the sound came from the office, eight people could not fit in such a small space as everywhere inside the annex was really cramped op

The annex was silent except for the clock in the town square. The family was hiding in fear as they heard the soldiers hunting them down. They moved foot by foot, afraid for the soldiers to hear their creaking footsteps behind their secret bookcase. It may look like a normal basic bookcase from the outside, but once you find how to open it, you will find items hidden behind it.

The family put their hands over their mouths so the soldiers couldn’t hear them. They heard the heavy footsteps just outside the annex. The family started praying that the German soldiers would go away, but the footsteps kept getting louder and louder. The family’s eyes widen as the heavy footsteps stop right outside the secret bookcase door. The family starts holding their breath as the secret door opens slowly.

Light peeks through the gap and you hear the German people speaking. A shiver runs down your spine. The Germans start talking, but are curious as the bookcase opens wider and wider. Due to your curiosity, you peek through the small gap anyway and see the German soldiers having a conversation.Anne Frank’s house had no electricity so she improvised  she grabbed her binoculars from her room and sat by the window watching over her neighbours seeing what they’re up to the first one was filming

The wallpaper outside the annex faded by the passage of time they marked wall with passage of time through centimetres but the backroom light was pretty grand we tried to make it pretty by adding a table cloth and a couple touches in every room you will taste every mouthful of fear.
